How kits ship (demo story)

Outpost Kits are packed as coherent systems. This page describes a fictional fulfillment narrative—how Shelter, Travel, Kitchen, Downtime, Play, and Signal would be staged, labeled, and handed off. There is no live shipping, tracking, or checkout.

Packing philosophy

We pack the way we design: by stay sequence, not by warehouse convenience alone.

  1. 01

    Threshold first

Airlock Ring parts and Vestibule Shelf so the crew can make a door.

  2. 02

    Shell and volume

Storm Shell and Hab Dome panels in labeled lifts.

  3. 03

    Kitchen core

Life Stack arrives intact as a unit when possible.

  4. 04

    Soft layers

Downtime and Play in soft-sided totes that can enter living floors without scratching.

  5. 05

    Signal last exterior

Uplink Mast exterior sections staged after Shelter skin is stable; Terminal Soft ships with indoor kits.

Travel bags often ship inside Vestibule-friendly containers so Landing Day Bundle is findable in the first hour.

What each kit ship looks like

Scout

  • Fewer lifts, more soft packs
  • Life Stack Scout as a single cook core
  • Compact Relay Pack nested with Etiquette Cards
  • Clear “open first” Landing Day Bundle

Ridge

  • Storm Shell panels as a dedicated lift
  • Quiet Room Insert as its own soft crate
  • Uplink Mast exterior + Terminal Soft indoor kit
  • Hop Bag Ridge pre-packed with day-stage sleeves

Colony

  • Airlock Ring & Storm Shell as a paired Shelter story
  • Site Transfer Totes used both as product and packing method
  • Life Stack Colony with expanded ware bays
  • Multiple quiet-pocket kits labeled by alcove

Labels you would see (demo)

  • OPEN FIRST — Landing Day Bundle
  • SHELTER / THRESHOLD — Airlock Ring
  • SHELTER / SKIN — Storm Shell
  • KITCHEN / LIFE STACK
  • DOWNTIME / QUIET
  • SIGNAL / MAST and SIGNAL / TERMINAL
  • PLAY / SOFT — keep away from cook surfaces

Tone on labels stays plain and warm—no urgency stamps, no mil-speak.

Staging on arrival

  1. 01Make the threshold.
  2. 02Stand the primary volume.
  3. 03Seat Life Stack.
  4. 04Place Quiet Room Insert before decorating the main sofa.
  5. 05Mount Uplink Mast only after skin is stable.
  6. 06Open Play last—celebrate after the house exists.

Demurrage, delays, and demo honesty

This is a fictional demo company. We do not claim carriers, planets, lead times, or live inventory. Ship copy exists so the catalog feels complete end to end.

A good arrival is quiet: the right crate first, the kettle second, Signal when you are ready to say you are home.
